Pike's Notes: 8-27-24

Jaguar Football Family,

Welcome to the official start of the 2024 football season! I am excited to get this season rolling.  The team had an excellent June and July and a lot of progress and growth was made.  There are several things I would like to bring to your attention as we start this season. If you have not filled out and uploaded the athletic annual paperwork and/or the athletic physical to the our activities website, that needs to get done ASAP (If your son got a physical last summer you should not have to get another physical because most last two years) Here is the link for the physical and the annual paperwork  https://fzw-ar.rschooltoday.com/

The following is the schedule for the next two weeks; August 12th-August 16th we have practice from 2:45pm- 5:45pm.  Saturday, August 17th is picture day. Varsity photos will begin at 6:45 am, Freshman photos will begin at 7:45 am. Both varsity and freshman will practice after pictures and we should be wrapped up around 10:30 am. August 19th, 20th, and 21st we will practice after school until roughly 5:30 pm. Thursday, August 22nd varsity will practice in the morning at 5:45am. Freshman will practice after school. Friday, August 23rd we have our Jamboree out at Winfield that will start at 8:00pm. Varsity players will then come Saturday morning at 10am to start prepping for our week 1 game against Kirkwood. With fall sports starting today, practices are now officially mandatory, if your player must miss a practice please communicate that with me.

Next, There are a couple of changes to our varsity schedule. As most of you know our first game against Kirkwood is being played on Thursday the 29th instead of Friday. Our second game of the year against Belleville West has also been moved to Thursday (Sep. 5th). Because of this, we will most likely have to bring in our JV/ Varsity players on Sunday, August 25th and Sunday, September 1st. I do not have locked in times of those practices yet, but they will most likely be in the evening. As soon as I have the official times I will let you know. The last change to the varsity schedule is our game against Howell will kickoff at 6pm not 7pm.

Finally, I want to thank all of you in advance for your support this year. All of the coaches are very excited about this group and what they are going to be able to do on the field. Thank you for allowing me and my coaches to be a part of their lives.
